    • Classic “Duo Zhi” Teapot by Fang Jianfen – Factory No.1, Late 1980s

This teapot was handcrafted by Fang Jianfen (房建芬), a skilled artisan of Yixing Factory 1 during the late 1980s. Like many potters of the white label period, she was permitted to mark her own seal, signifying both personal craftsmanship and the legacy of the state-run factory system.

The shape is the classic “Duo Zhi” (掇只) form, known for its full, rounded body and balanced proportions. Its gently domed lid and soft silhouette make it one of the most beloved and enduring Yixing forms.

Unlike its counterpart made from Hei Tie Sha, this version is formed from a traditional red Yixing clay (hong ni), prized for its smooth texture and relatively fast heat response. This makes it especially well-suited for high-fragrance teas such as lightly roasted Taiwanese oolongs, green Dancong, or high mountain teas where aromatics are key.

With its single-hole filter and precise lid fit, this piece is functional, elegant, and a faithful representation of late-Factory 1 craftsmanship. Perfect for daily Gongfu sessions or as a thoughtful collector’s item.
