Flavour Profile

Aroma: attractive, sweetish, grassy, refreshing with a hints of seaweed, green bean, floral

Taste: fresh, dominated by hints of green pea, soybean, orange, fresh flowers and end with some fruity notes.

Texture: buttery, creamy, mild Umami and lingering sweetness.

How to Brew

Gong Fu Cha style: 5g / 100ml , 85°C, white porcelain Gaiwan 

30-40 sec each steep, can be re-steeped for at least 5 times.

Western: 85°C, 3g for 300ml water in a glass. Add 100ml water, add tea leaves, add the remaining 200ml water, wait for 2-3 mins, can be re-steeped for 4-5 times.

Behind This Tea

While the origins of Bi Luo Chun trace back to China, the Taiwanese version has developed its own identity and is deeply rooted in Taiwan’s tea culture.

Sanxia in New Taipei, Taiwan is renowned for its tea production, particularly its Bi Luo Chun, which has been adapted to the local conditions. The mountainous terrain, abundant rainfall, and misty environment provide ideal conditions for growing high-quality green tea. Sanxia’s Bi Luo Chun is known for its fresh, sweet taste with a slightly floral and fruity note, which is characteristic of the region’s produce, and different than the Chinese version.
