    • The Dragon Boat Festival, or Duanwu, is a time-honored celebration in Chinese culture, filled with vibrant traditions and a sense of togetherness.

      This tea gathering is hosted in the China Cultural Center in collaboration with YUMM CHA. After a great success in our last collaboration, this event aims to bring the essence of meaningful tradition to life filled with the finest tea, incense, and traditional food, creating an immersive, authentic and deep cultural experience for our guests.

      This unique event combines the most significant activities of the Dragon Boat Festival into four sessions that you won't want to miss!

      1. Introduction about this festival, history, cultures, as well as the tea and incense.
      2. Incense-Making: The practice of making and burning incense during the Dragon Boat Festival dates back centuries, rooted in ancient traditions aimed at protecting against evil spirits and purifying the surroundings. It is customary to craft incense from herbs believed to ward off impurities and negative energies. During our gathering, you will participate in an incense-making session, learning to using the natural herbs blended and refined in powder to craft your own protective incense into a pill format, which can be heated to diffuse protective and purifying incense aroma or placed into the fortune sachet we provide. This can be used for yourselves or as a meaningful gifts for your friends or family. 
      3. Tasting handmade Zong Zi, the quintessential food of the Dragon Boat Festival. It is made with sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves. These handmade delicacies hold a symbolic connection to the legendary poet Qu Yuan, representing both cultural heritage and respect for tradition. The sweet flavors of the rice and fillings are thoughtfully paired with our selection of the finest tea, balancing richness with subtle tea notes.
      4. Our tea gathering features the finest selection of teas, ranging from wellness herbal blends to freshly harvested ones. Each tea is thoughtfully chosen to align with the seasonality and to enhance the whole flavours of the festival.
