Crafted from fine red clay, the body has a smooth and earthy finish, with a distinctive dragon-head lid knob, a classic symbol of protection and spiritual authority in Chinese culture.
One side of the teapot is inscribed with the poetic line:
“山靜似太古,日長如小年” “ The mountains rest as if from ancient times; the days stretch long like a peaceful year.”This verse evokes a timeless stillness and a slow, expansive rhythm, echoing the very spirit of tea. On the opposite side, a bamboo grove is elegantly carved, reinforcing the literary ideal of purity, grace, and quiet strength.
The base is inscribed with:
“庚辰春月,製於蜀山” “Made in the Spring of the Gengchen Year, at Shushan”
