This custom-made teapot is crafted in the late 80's by Mr. Tong MengDa (童孟大), a registered artisan of the Yixing Zisha Craft Factory (also known as Factory No. 1).
Since the 1980s, Yixing Zisha (Purple Clay) teapots have gained significant popularity in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan. To meet the growing demand, artisans from the official Factory No. 1 began crafting teapots in non-official workshops operated by Hong Kong and Taiwanese merchants.
This teapot has finer material and was fired at a high kiln temperature, achieving a high level of sintering, which makes it ideal for brewing light or highly fragrant teas. The slight shine on its surface comes from the kiln's oxygen levels during firing, adding to its unique charm.
