Explore the Rich Characteristics of Roasted Sijichun Oolong Tea
Sijichun is naturally known for its lively floral aroma and sweet character. In this roasted expression, careful charcoal roasting transforms its bright and refreshing profile into something warmer, deeper and more mellow, while still preserving the distinctive character of the cultivar.
Our Roasted Sijichun Oolong is produced by tea master Lee. Through a precise roasting process, the tea develops a smooth and rounded body with notes of toasted grain, caramelised sweetness and ripe fruit, accompanied by a gentle floral fragrance underneath. The result is a rich yet highly approachable oolong with a pleasant lingering sweetness.
What is Sijichun Oolong Tea?
Four Seasons Spring Oolong, also known as Sijichun (四季春), is a popular Taiwanese tea cultivar known for its vigorous growth, distinctive floral aroma and naturally sweet character. It can be harvested several times throughout the year and is particularly valued for its aromatic and versatile nature.
While lightly roasted Sijichun tends to emphasise fresh floral and fruity notes, deeper roasting brings out another side of the cultivar. Its bright fragrance becomes softer and warmer, developing into a fuller profile with roasted, sweet and gently caramelised notes.
For those looking for an everyday oolong with more body and warmth than a typical light Taiwanese oolong, roasted Sijichun offers an excellent balance between fragrance, richness and drinkability.
